A new investment is being added to the new generation energy storage solutions. POMEGA Enerji Depolama Teknolojileri AŞ, a subsidiary of Uzmanmatik Technology, and VARTA Storage GmbH, a subsidiary of Germany-based VARTA AG, signed a memorandum of understanding envisaging comprehensive cooperation in the field of energy storage.
Varta Storage GmbH, a subsidiary of Varta AG, and Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, a subsidiary of Uzmanmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mühendislik AŞ, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a sector-leading collaboration. Varta, one of the leading brands in the battery industry that has been operating for nearly 140 years, has a wide range of products from micro batteries to consumer products. Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, which specializes in LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery technology, one of Turkey's important investments in 'energy storage', offers storage solutions used in various sectors through domestic production. Pomega is also the only and leading private sector initiative in LFP battery production in a wide geography stretching from China to Italy.
The collaboration between the two companies aims to make a difference in the industry by combining Varta's wide sales network and strong brand awareness gained from its expertise in the battery industry with Pomega's production capacity and expertise in LFP battery technology. In cooperation with Pomega, Varta plans to switch from NMC (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt) technology to LFP technology using Pomega products and to incorporate a new segment offering industrial storage products and solutions produced by Pomega. Through the joint venture to be established by the parties, it is aimed to transfer the energy storage solutions to be developed using Pomega products to the Balkans and Turkey with European financing and to provide investors with the opportunity to use European export credit funds.
