· ONE’s 314 Ah LFP battery cells will be contract manufactured by Pomega in Ankara, Türkiye starting this year.
· Cell manufacturing in Türkiye begins in 2026 with 2 GWh and grows to 5 GWh in 2027, complementing ONE’s Michigan-based production that begins in 2027 to meet growing market demand.
· ONE’s dual source strategy strengthens supply chain resiliency, aligns with U.S. policy priorities and maintains eligibility for the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) domestic content bonus.
Our Next Energy Inc. (ONE), the largest independent American battery manufacturer, today announced a strategic partnership with Pomega Energy Storage Technologies, a subsidiary of Kontrolmatik, to contract manufacture its 314 Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells in Türkiye. The agreement will deliver 2 GWh of supply in 2026 and 5 GWh in 2027—serving as a critical complement to ONE’s domestic cell manufacturing facility in Michigan, which begins production in 2027.
Cells will be manufactured to ONE’s specifications at Pomega’s facility in Ankara, Türkiye, which currently has 3 GWh of installed capacity and is undergoing qualification to serve global export markets. This near-term supply will be integrated into ONE’s energy storage product line, supporting customers across utility, commercial, and industrial segments.
“Since our founding, ONE has worked to create battery supply chains that are resilient, flexible, and domestically anchored,” said Mujeeb Ijaz, Founder and CEO of ONE. “By partnering with Pomega, Europe’s largest independent battery manufacturer, to establish a near-term manufacturing base in Türkiye, we are helping customers navigate taric volatility while staying on track to deliver fully domestic supply at scale by 2027.”
Pomega, as part of Kontrolmatik, brings extensive capabilities in cell manufacturing and large-scale energy infrastructure development. Its Ankara factory—the first and only private-sector LFP cell facility in Türkiye—was commissioned in 2023 and is designed for global qualification. Kontrolmatik has successfully executed more than 400 turnkey EPC projects across energy, process industries, transportation, and mining in over 40 countries and plays a key role in scaling clean energy infrastructure globally.
“Our Ankara production line leverages advanced automation, rigorous quality controls, and scalable throughput to meet international standards,” said Sami Aslanhan, Chairman of Kontrolmatik. “We’re excited to support ONE’s mission and U.S. customer base with proven manufacturing capabilities and a long-term industrial partnership that extends beyond cell supply into EPC and project development.”
This announcement follows ONE’s recent launch of its U.S.-manufactured grid battery product line, which includes LFP cells, modules, and battery management systems. This supply structure preserves eligibility for the IRA’s Domestic Content Bonus, allowing imported cells to qualify when paired with U.S.-manufactured modules and enclosures—an increasingly important option amid high demand and policy uncertainty.
“The partnership with Pomega ocers our customers a stable, trade-aligned, and high-quality supply of LFP cells during a period of historic demand and global realignment,” said Dr. Deeana Ijaz, Chief Strategy Ocicer at ONE. “We’re committed to delivering product configurations that qualify for IRA incentives now and in the long term—backed by both international and U.S.-based production.”
Türkiye’s trade relationship with the United States—supported by its designation under the Generalized System of Preferences—provides a compliant and reliable sourcing route amid shifting global taric policies. The partnership reflects a dual-source strategy that aligns with U.S. policy priorities while ensuring uninterrupted delivery for customers.
ONE and Kontrolmatik are also exploring a broader joint venture framework to deepen their collaboration, including EPC services for ONE’s Michigan facility and expanded cooperation across cell and system manufacturing.
