Ford Otosan and POMEGA’s Innovative Battery Project Receives the Henry Ford Technology Award
The “Battery Recovery Project” (FO&US - Focus on Battery Reuse & Storage), created by POMEGA and Ford Otosan, has been honored with the prestigious Henry Ford Technology Award in the United States. This award, one of the most respected recognitions in the fields of energy storage and sustainability, highlights POMEGA’s potential to make a difference in energy technology through innovative solutions.
Through this groundbreaking project, waste batteries were transformed into an energy storage system and repurposed for new use. This 142.9 kWh energy storage system, located at Ford Otosan’s Gebze Campus, was constructed using recovered batteries. The FO&US project not only provides a sustainable energy storage solution but also aims to minimize the environmental impact of waste batteries.
With POMEGA’s contributions, the FO&US project represents a milestone in sustainability. This success story demonstrates how battery reuse can contribute to environmental sustainability and serves as an example for diversifying energy storage solutions within the industry.
We extend our gratitude to the POMEGA and Ford Otosan teams for their dedication to this important project. The FO&US project inspires a more sustainable future for the energy storage industry and represents a valuable step toward reducing environmental impact.
